Home > TUNGSTEN LIGHTS > accessories > Scrim kit - Junior 2000 watts A scrim is a stainless steel wire screen used to reduce the intensity
of the light. Scrims are often used to reduce the intensity of the light without
changing the color temperature. You may choose to use more than one scrim in order to build up even less light to come out of the fixture itself. - the green scrim reduces the light by a 1/2F-stop; - the red scrim reduces the light by a 1F-stop. - the half single scrim is often used to align a division between foreground and the background in order to have a 1/2F-stop less light on the foreground area and more light to travel to further distance to the background area. So, if an actor is walking towards the lamp head, he starts out on that portion of the beam that has no scrim giving the most amount of light to what’s needed in the distance and as he walks closer to the fixture, he gets into that portion of the beam that has to have the scrim; in this way the amount of light from the fixture is reduced, leaving a constant exposure to the entire take. Our scrim kit also includes a cordura transport pouch.
